Nicholls’ wide receiver Patrick Gordon discusses football, the Colonels, his college career, strategies and personal interests.
Q. What is your motivation on the football field?
A. “To be the best #15 (Gordon) can be.”
Q. What will be different about this year’s team?
A. “This year’s team will be younger with a lot of speed and offensively will be more versatile.”
Q. With Nicholls being a run-oriented team, how do you deal with the lack of receiving opportunities?
A. “You got to block first and catch second. The big plays come at the end of the game when the team needs it the most.”
Q. How is the new group of wide receivers?
A. “We have new freshmen at receiver along with transfers who will contribute.”
Q. How will you help lead?
A. “I am a quiet leader and hopefully my senior leadership will help the younger guys.”
Q. What is the first thought in your head when a play is called for you?
A. “Go get the ball and make a big play.”
Q. Who do you compare your game to?
A. “Matt Jones, (Jacksonville Jaguars) a big lanky receiver who can go up and get the ball.”
Q. Do you want to play in the NFL?
A. “Yes. Hopefully I get the opportunity and I have a good season.”
Q. When and in what will you be graduating?
A. “Fall 2008 in marketing.”

A. ” I am a great fisher.
