Senior defensive back Lardarius Webb found himself on yet another preseason All-American team as College Sporting News was the latest to dub him with the honor, announced the organization on Wednesday morning. Webb was also named to the Sports Network preseason All-American team last week to go along with his growing list of accolades.
He was named to the All-American First Team by both news sources.
The Opelika, Ala. native has chalked up quite a list of awards so far heading into the season by being named to two preseason All-American squads, the preseason All-Southland Conference First Team, and is also projected a first round draft pick in the 2009 NFL by Rivals.com.
The only other Southland Conference league member represented on the College Sporting News Preseason All-American team was McNeese State with senior left guard Eman Naghavi garnering the accolade. Naghavi received third team honors.
The Colonels open up the season at New Mexico State Thursday Sept. 4. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. local time.
