Students can now have their refund checks from the University directly deposited into their checking account, Michael Naquin, assistant vice president of business affairs for financial services, said.Students must fill out a form and return it to the controller’s office with a voided check attached. The voided check is needed for the controller’s office to obtain the bank routing number and the account number to ensure the money is deposited in the correct account. Forms can be picked up at the controller’s office, financial aid office or the fee collection window.
Currently, there are about 100 students who have taken advantage of the direct deposit system for refunds. The controller’s office adds about five students to the direct deposit system per day.
In addition to direct depositing refunds, students have been able to have their student employment payroll and loan funds direct deposited since last fall.
Naquin encourages students to have their refunds and student payroll direct deposited.
“Having these two options in addition to loan funds transmitted electronically are all services benefiting the student in getting the money owed to them as quickly as possible,” Naquin said.
