Bryan Bailey, general studies freshman from Morgan City, died on May 21 after being struck by a train.Justin Barbier, biology sophomore from Morgan City, was one of Bailey’s friends. Bailey and Barbier attended Morgan City High School together and continued their friendship at Nicholls.
“He was the nicest guy you could ever meet,” Barbier said. “He took time out to shake my hand and say ‘hey’ when we passed each other on campus. He was a nice guy and a selfless person. I was honored to be his friend.”
Kelli Eastling, freshman from Patterson, knew Bailey for most of her life and said that he will be dearly missed.
“I’ve known Bryan since the second grade,” Eastling said. “Bryan was a quiet person who was always sweet. He always seemed to be happy.”
Eastling said she enjoyed spending time with Bailey. “He hung out with me and my boyfriend on and off campus,” Eastling said. “He seemed like he didn’t have a care in the world.”
Eastling knew that Bailey was interested in psychology. “We had a psychology class together last semester,” Easley said. “It’s really hard to believe. I expect to go to Nicholls next semester and see him. All of our prayers are with him.
