Colt Colletti
Former Nicholls State running back Colt Colletti has signed a free-agent contract with the New Orleans Saints.
A native of River Ridge, the 5-9, 215-pound Colletti, who prepped at John Curtis Christian High School, played for the Colonels from 2000-2004. During his senior campaign in 2004, Colletti played in nine games and rushed for 546 yards on 91 carries with six touchdowns. Colletti also amassed 100 yards in two games with a season-best 142 yards on 15 carries against Texas Southern. Colletti’s four-year totals include 380 carries for 2,051 yards – the fourth-most in school history – and 24 touchdowns.
“This is such a tremendous honor,” Colletti said. “I want to thank the New Orleans Saints organization for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. I never would have been in this situation without the tremendous support of my parents, my teammates and my coaching staff. All the credit goes to them for believing in me and helping me mold into a better player.
