Sherry and Cherry are both government sophomores from Houma. The twins live in Thibodaux and are still inseparable. The Nicholls Worth interviewed Sherry and Cherry to see what life has been like growing up as twins.Q: Sherry, did you and cherry plan to attend college together?
Sherry: Yes, because we are majoring in the same field.
Q: What is the longest amount of time you both have been separated?
Cherry: We were separated for six months because we are foster kids, and we were placed in a different home, but our adopted mothers wanted us together so we were placed in the same home again at six.
Q: If both of you had a choice to start life over again, would you both still want to be twins?
Sherry: Yes, because no matter what happened in life, I would always have someone there.
Cherry: I would rather just be sisters not twins because Sherry is aggravating, ha ha, and she thinks she is the boss.
Q: If someone wrote a movie about your life, who would you like to play your characters and why?
Sherry: I would have to say Queen Monique because she does not care about w hat she says. I want to be represented by thick women because I am more bootylicious than Beyonce’.
Cherry: I would pick Mother Love a.k.a. Star Jones because I love to keep the peace amongst my friends. Mother Love is a strong, independent black woman and I choose her because I have a short temper and it’s easier for me to keep the peace than show my bad side.
Q: Do you both plan to separate after you graduate?
Sherry: Hell to the no…
Cherry: No, because we plan to own our own law firm at the age of 30.
Q: Did you both ever pretend to be one another in school?
Sherry: I’ll never tell…
Cherry: Yes, second grade. We were living with our first foster mother Mama Anna in Oberlin, LA. Sherry and I both had math and English exams, but I was stronger in English, and Sherry was stronger in math. Sherry and I switched clothes in the restroom at lunchtime and went to each other’s class to take the exams. Mama Anna decided to pick us up early from school that day, and she discovered our plan and whipped us in front of the entire class.
Q: What do you both think about Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and how do you think they will do in college this year?
Sherry: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are the fakest twins and they could never be us, however, they are extremely talented, and I think they will succeed in school.
