Junior wide receiver Kenyad Blair leads the Colonels in receiving yards for the season.
This season, Blair has played nine games and started four. Blair has 199 receiving yards and two touchdowns.The Oklahoma City native attended junior college at Northeast Oklahoma. Blair finished his sophomore season with 40 receptions for over 400 yards and a touchdown.
Blair took time after practice to talk about football.
Q: Do you have any pre-game rituals or superstitions?
A: I listen to the same song all the time, watch a little bit of football, and I always have some Gatorade and some chewing gum.
Q: What song do you listen to?
A: “All The Way Turnt Up” by Rosco Dash and Soulja Boy.
Q: What do you like to do when you’re not on the field or in class?
A: I like to play video games, watch movies or just chill with my friends.
Q: Being from Oklahoma, what made you decide to come to Nicholls?
A: It was a new place, a different kind of weather, and I just like to travel.
Q: What’s the toughest thing about being a student-athlete?
A: When something goes wrong amongst our athletes, all athletes get labeled as the same thing as that one person.
Q: In your opinion, what is your career highlight?
A: On fourth down and three with 13 seconds to go against Texas State to tie the game and send it into overtime.
Q: What is your most memorable moment playing football?
A: My most memorable moment is my first collegiate touchdown.
Q: Have you always wanted to play football?
A: No, actually I was a basketball player until my eighth grade year.
Q: How do you feel about Wade Philips being fired?
A: I’m kind of upset about it, but things happen, you know?
