The Nicholls State Lady Colonels soccer team dropped its second home contest in three days Sunday against Stephen F. Austin University 5-0. The first half was relatively quiet until the 44th minute when SFA scored the first goal of the game.
The goal came from the foot of Kim Gray, with the assist coming from Lauren Cummings.
In the half the Lady Colonels held SFA to only nine shots, although Nicholls only had two.
That first goal for SFA would be the spark they would use to dominate the game offensively.
In the 46th minute, Stephanie Prentice scored the second SFA goal, with the assist coming from Gray.
In the 70th minute Amanda Alders netted the third goal for the Ladyjacks. Amanda Lackey assisted on the play.
The Alders-Lackey combo would strike again in the 73rd minute as Alders scored her second goal of the game, with the assist coming from Lackey.
Lackey scored the last SFA goal unassisted in the 79th minute of play.
In the second period alone, the Ladyjacks had 19 shots, while Nicholls had just one. In the entire game the Lady Colonels had a total of three shots while SFA had two.
Alders led all players with seven shots, five shots on goal and two goals.
Tori Priddy led the Lady Colonels with two shots, and one shot on goal, and behind her was Amy Authement with one shot and one shot on goal.
Nicholls will now travel to face Southeastern University Oct. 14 at 4 p.m.
