“Fine dining with a hip, metropolitan attitude.” Those are the words Jeremy Carroll, part owner of Houma’s Franco’s Trattoria and the Y Bar, used to describe both establishments. Carroll and co-owner Christiano Raffignone are bringing a fresh new vibe to downtown Houma through these unique establishments. The Y Bar and Franco’s seem to be places you would see in a big city.
First off is Franco’s Trattoria. The moment you walk in, the soft lighting and artistic dcor immediately catch your eye. Once you look at the menu you cannot help but to be in awe by the choices placed in front of you.
Executive chef Brandon Leblanc has an array of courses originating from all over the world. The idea at Franco’s is to order something like a bunch of different appetizers and share it with everyone at your table for a new take on your boring fine dining restaurant.
Franco’s also has an exceptional wine list in which each wine is paired perfectly with at least one meal on the menu.
After you have enjoyed a unique meal at Franco’s, jump right next door to the Y Bar to continue your evening.
The Y Bar, with its great atmosphere and people, is fun on any night of the week. The Y Bar plays host to musicians ranging from rock, blues, jazz, hip-hop/dance and acoustic artist.
Starting in May, the Y Bar will have a Blues Jam on Tuesday nights, linking local musicians with headliners from the New Orleans area.
If you are in the mood for unique food, good wine, an amazing atmosphere and wonderful people, Franco’s and the Y Bar have everything to meet your needs.
