Opinion: Most noticeable people around Nicholls

College is full of new experiences and interesting personalities. As you walk around campus at Nicholls State University, you might notice some of the following unique, noticeable people.

The Greek Life Members:
It’s easy to spot members of the Greek community solely because of they way they dress. Let’s face it, they pretty much all dress the same.

The Gamers:
This crew is usually bunched up in the grid from morning to afternoon and is probably head first in a game. They’re arguably the most competitive group of students on campus. If you don’t agree, go challenge them to a game.

The Culinary Students:
Ever since they moved out of Gouaux hall and into the new culinary building, we rarely catch them sticking out around campus with their grey pants anymore. Campus is just not the same with you guys so far away.

The Students on The Wood:
It’s hard to tell if some of the students that hang out in The Wood even attend school this semester, or if they’re just lounging around enjoying the weather with the rest of the student body. The best jokes can be heard in The Wood at any given moment. You might hear anything from “WHAT ARE THOSE?” to political opinions about the upcoming 2016 U.S. Presidential election.

The Confused Colonels:
I can’t believe that students still have the guts to walk around wearing other school’s attire around campus. Fear of hearing a loud horn and Grant Ordoyne storming across a room with a local television station should be enough motivation to keep a Nicholls tee on. Ladies and gentlemen, do not be a Confused Colonel in the spring!

Ms. Eunice:
If you’ve eaten in the cafeteria at any point over the last few years, you know Ms. Eunice; she swipes the Colonel Cards as you enter. She’s Nicholls State University’s version of Chic-fil-a personnel– she greets each and every student with a smile. Lunch is already exciting, but she makes it better!

The Vampire Students:
We never actually see these students being still. Instead you can just find them always walking around. It’s hard to catch these students in any classroom, the caf, the library, or the rec center. They’re always just passing by on their way to who knows where. If you’re lucky, you might catch a few of them around the halls when reviews for finals approach.

The Toddlers:
These are the most popular kids on campus because although they stroll through campus each morning, they don’t even attend college yet! The adorable little kids that ride on wagons through campus each morning steal all the attention away from other cool kids. If only the big kids could get chauffeured around Nicholls every morning.
These are just a few of the people you may have noticed while walking around this fall semester. In a sense, it takes all of these people to make the Nicholls community what it is.
