Baseball wins conference series against Lamar:

On March 26, the baseball team came up short 5-0 against Southern Miss.

On March 29 and 30, the Colonels got their momentum back, winning a conference series against Lamar in Beaumont, Texas. They won their first two games out of three with final scores of 4-2 and 5-4.

They will be back in action at home against Southern University on April 2 and will play a conference series at Northwestern State on April 5 through 7.

Softball loses to LSU and Sam Houston:

The softball team came up short against LSU in five innings on March 27 in Baton Rouge. The Colonels lost 12-1.

At home, they also came up short in a series against Sam Houston State, in which they played a deciding third game on March 30. They won their first game 3-1, lost their second 1-0 and lost their final game 4-3.

The softball team will play Southern University on April 3 at home. They will also play a conference series against Northwestern State on April 5 through 6 at home.

Men’s tennis played first conference match of the season against Abilene Christian:

The men’s tennis team fell to New Mexico State at home on March 26, losing 5-0.

On March 29, the men played their first conference match of the season against Abilene Christian and lost 7-0.

The men will face Tulane in New Orleans on April 2.

Women’s tennis came up short against Bradley University and Abilene Christian:

The women’s tennis team had a close match against Bradley University at home on March 20 but came up short 4-3.

On March 29, the women were in action against Abilene Christian and lost 6-1. Senior Stephanie Barnett was the only Colonel to pick up a win.

This week, the women will face Incarnate Word on April 3, McNeese on April 5 and Southeastern on April 7. They will play all their matches away.
