Sodexo on Nicholls State University’s campus received a 95 percent approval rating from the students on campus and was ranked 25 out of 700 schools in the country.
The workers follow strict safety guidelines to ensure the quality of the food. Fresh food is also often kept on hand, which increases the quality of the food the students are receiving.
“For me, it’s all about you guys. If you guys aren’t happy, then I’m not doing my job,” said Disja Hadley, the retail and concessions manager.
Hadley said she listens to students’ feedback and tries to make changes based on what students want to see.
For instance, the menu of Colonel’s Retreat was recently changed to be more student friendly.
“They have a wide selection of fresh baked goods for those living in a dorm,” said Ryker Emnace, interdisciplinary studies freshman from Slidell.
Emnace said he agrees that Sodexo is a great service for the school.
Vincent Graziano, a management major with a concentration in human resources sophomore from Covington, said he likes the kind staff that works in the cafeteria and that The Grid is in a convenient location.
“I guess the biggest thing is just paying attention to what the customer wants and making sure that we have the right products on hand to make it,” Hadley said.
Hadley said much of the food is the students’ opinions; it’s what the students want. She also said she is understanding of a students’ life and the money that comes with it, and the prices are set to be reasonable to those standards.
