Nicholls golf finished regular season

The Nicholls State University men’s golf team finished its regular season with the Southern Intercollegiate and Lake Charles Invitational Tournaments. In less than a month, the team will travel to Mckinney, Texas, to compete in the Southland Conference Championships.
Tournament Recaps
The Nicholls men’s golf team finished 16th out of 18 teams in the two-round Southern Intercollegiate at the Athens Country Club in Athens, Georgia, on March 12.
Jack Lee moved up 16 spots in the leaderboard as he dropped four strokes during the second round. On holes two and three, Lee birdied two par-4 holes. He finished in a six-man tie for 45th place.
Albert Badosa-Soler landed the Colonels’ only eagle of the tournament on the par-5 10th hole.
Also improving his score during the second round, Badosa knocked off three strokes to tie with three others for 70th place.
Connor Campbell (+18), Baker Stevenson (+21) and Edouard Cholet (+25) also competed in the tournament.
The Nicholls men’s golf team tied for eighth place of 11 teams on Monday in the Lake Charles Invitational at The Country Club at the Golden Nugget. With 36 holes, the team scored 298 during the first round and 299 for the second.
Edouard Cholet swung a 76 in the opening round, allowing him to jump 21 spots on the leaderboard. In the second round, he had seven birdies and achieved a 1-under 71, a career-low. Cholet ended the day at 147 in a tie for 22nd place.
Jack Lee scored a 74 in the first round and dropped one stroke the following round, equaling 147. Though he earned a triple bogey during the opening round, he recovered with three birdies and pars on 14 of 18 holes during round two.
Albert Badosa-Soler swung a 72 and then a 77 for round two.
Connor Campbell and Chad Watts-Denyes had identical scores with a 76 for the first round and a 78 during the second round to end with a 154. Watts-Denyes eagled on the first hole to become one of 14 golfers to eagle.
On the second day of the tournament, the golf team concluded their regular season by finishing ninth out of 11 teams on day two of the Lake Charles Invitational.
Jack Lee tied in seventh place as he eagled twice in the final round and swung a 6-under 66. Overall, his results were a 3-under 213, which positioned him in the top 10 for the season.
Scoring the second highest for the Colonels, Edouard Cholet scored a 223 to tie for 31st place.
Albert Badosa-Soler finished the tournament with a 224 as he carded a score of 75.
While Connor Campbell scored a 75 for a 229, his teammate Chad Watts-Denyes carded an 80 and an overall 234.
Looking Forward
The Nicholls men’s golf team will compete in the Southland Conference Championships, beginning April 23. The tournament is scheduled to be held in Mckinney, Texas, at the Stonebridge Ranch Golf Club.
