Celebrate Women’s Week with these upcoming events

Women’s Week at Nicholls State University will take place during the week of Mar. 11, 2018.
Throughout the week, various student organizations will host events celebrating women.
Events begin on Monday, Mar. 12, with the “#GirlTalk” forum. The forum will be held in the Bowie Room in the Student Union from 5:00-6:00 P.M., and will afford the women of the university to discuss any issues or problems they may face throughout their daily lives.
Following that from 6:00-8:00 P.M., the Nicholls NAACP will host a stiletto heels dance class in the Shaver Dance Studio, located on the second floor of Shaver Gymnasium. This class will feature instruction on the seemingly challenging task of dancing while wearing stiletto heels.
On Tuesday, Mar. 13, the Radio-Television Digital News Association will host a Women in the Media Panel from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. in the Le Bijou Theater in the Student Union. This panel will feature different women that hold positions in various forms of media as they discuss their personal experiences as women in their particular fields.
On Wednesday, Mar. 14, the Nicholls NAACP will host a self-care workshop from 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Plantation Suites in the Student Union. The workshop aims to inform women about various aspects of self-care dealing with not only physical details such as health and beauty, but also with emotional and spiritual care as well.
Events come to a close on Thursday, Mar. 15, when the NAACP hosts a Trap Yoga class from 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Shaver Dance Studio. This class will focus on empowering women through song and exercise.
