On October 15, 2016 Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority hosted its Seventh Annual Running for Robbie Philanthropy event.

Along with the annual 5K walk Tri Sigma added a half mile Kid’s Fun Run. They had a bake sale, space-walk, a face painting station and an art auction with pieces of art donated by local artist.

“The day couldn’t have gone any smoother,” Lauren Constant accounting sophomore from Thibodaux, said. “The weather was beautiful and we had a great turn out of people. We are so grateful to have support from them. It was a great day for a family event.”

All proceeds raised from the event goes to Sigma Sigma Sigma Foundation’s Robbie Page Memorial Fund that is a part of a foundation that gives money to aid children’s play therapy.

“The women of Tri Sigma are so grateful for everyone that came out and supported our event in any way,” Blaire Verdin accounting sophomore from Gray, said. “Also a special shout out to the Nicholls baseball team for coming out and supporting for the second year in the row.”

For this years’ race over 42 sponsors contributed to the success of the event. The event was presented by Greg LeBlanc Toyota which is Tri Sigma’s very first Title Sponsor.

“Putting on this year’s event truly is a blessing,” Constant said. “It is something I will remember for the rest of my life. I am amazed at all of the hard work and support we received from not only our members, but also our local community. I am so proud to be a member of Tri Sigma and I am extremely proud to serve our Philanthropy.”
